NATIONAL ROLE: Home Constitution History Local Role
A Constitution and By-Laws, adopted in 1990, provides structure and organization, and calls Liaisons together for mutual support. The Association does not mandate what individual Liaisons do in their own dioceses; rather, it provides opportunity for theological understanding and pastoral exchange on a broader level.
Liaisons from the United States )and currently also from Canada) gather annually for a Spring Conference at a designated location. In preparation for the Annual Conference, a Theological Symposium is held in the preceding fall. Another vehicle of communication is the newsletter of the Association.
In recent years the Association has appointed members to various committees. At the present time, we have a member on each of the following committees: National Service Committee Conference (NSC); North American Renewal Services Committee (NARSC) and United States Conference of Catholic Bishops' Council for Laity (USCCBCL).
Members of the Association are also on the Committee of Five (NSC, USCCB, Ethnics, Communities, ADL), Theological Gatherings (NSC), Youth (NSC) and Spirit of the Lord (NSC), continuing to build bridges with the different groups involved in Charismatic Renewal.
These representatives report to the Liaisons at the Spring Conference.
